About 16 million drivers hit the roads of Florida each year – on average they will be involved in about 250,000 accidents in that 12-month period, primarily due to careless driving, according to the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles data. Careless driving refers to the driver not giving due consideration to various factors, including road curves and width, traffic, turns, the grade of the road, and any other conditions that can effect driving. In 2009, there were 646 motor vehicle accidents per day!
